What is it in? I did a little research myself but didn't find anything with the GCA or the #. I have found in the past that some Canadian #s are not listed. You went to Inliners.com right? I'll keep looking.

The numbers I listed were toward the front of the block on the right side of the distributor. There suppose be some numbers around the starter. I haven't found those yet. It should have been stamped on a pad just to the rear of the distributor. The GCA prefix is for a '49 216 (built at Flint) that was used in the 4000 series trucks. The rest of the serial number is just the build sequence number.
A '49 216 used in a 3600 or 3800 would have the prefix AGCA or AGCM.

It will be raised letters, and might be behind the starter. Then go to www.inliners.org and look it up. But all it will do is confirm that you have a 216 in the ol gal.
