It may not be to involved, as the Toyota land cruiser folks seem to like the SM465 (a GM 4 speed that easliy fits your engine), so it's possible to go the other way.
Try these folks, either they have an answer or adapter, or should point you in the right direction:

What do you hope to gain from this swap?

What's the point in installing a different 4 speed with the same 1:1 top gear ratio? There are lots of original transmissions available, plus a bunch of full-synchro passenger car 4-speed transmissions like the Muncie or Saginaw if you want to use all 4 gears without double-clutching or coming to a full stop to engage 1st. gear.

Toyota used a 235 in their F45 Land Cruiser,I don't see why you couldn't use that transmission. But like they said anything can be adapted. Hell Dodge put a Viper engine on a motorcycle.

The engine that Toyota used was not a 235, but rather a copied design. It's dimensions are different from the 235, almost more like GMC, really. Not sure about what bolt pattern was used for te bellhousing, though.
I'm with Jerry, with all of the 4 speds that are a direct bolt up, and even a few 5 speed overdrives that are easily adapted, why use a Toyota trans that really doesn't give much benefit?

Toyota has a totally bitchin 5 speed that has a really high torque rating, made by aisin. It was used in turbo Supras. That one I can see, for a hot V8, but with a stovebolt six the S10 T-5 seems like the hot ticket. I'm looking for the Supra trans for my '66 chevelle, adavanced adapters make the plate for it. It has like a 450 lbs torque rating, and nice ratios for a hot rod!
