I thought anodizing was the formation of a hard protective aluminum oxide.
And powdercoating was the baking on of a plastic coat applied electrostaticly as a powder.

I've seen it on some Rods and I sort of like it.
Almost looks like a ceramic coating to me, at least the color I'm familiar with. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 576 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 576 | was at the easyriders show in columbus this year and a powder coater was there,i know what your talking about i agree with 53 moneypit i sortado also.i saw some stock pulleys from a sbc that they powder coated chrome then put a clear over.i 100% fell in love with them ,totaly different look than chrome or billet.lady said about $20.00 a pulley to pull off the look .its something i'm considering.i say if you like it go for itbuild it for you.................dave

It was a two layer process, but it ended up looking pretty darn good. I really love the gun; anything I could fit in the oven got powdercoated. There's also an Eastwood forum where people post the pictures of the stuff they've powdercoated at home. It's pretty impressive. | | |
