on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 12 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 12 | Hello Felllow Bolters, I'm located in Las Vegas, NV & have 2 54 Chevy First Series trucks (3100 & 3600)that are in need of restoration. Both are all original with the Hydramatic tranny. Since I am new to the restoration scene, I am sure I will have a lot of questions. I have gone thru a lot of the technical posts and do not see much of recent information on the Hydramatic transmissions. Reading all the posts on this site it sounds like split exhaust, offy intake, HEI ignition, corvette cam and a later 235 block made for hydraulic lifters is the setup to wake up the 235s to their full potential since I have to get the motors running anyway, I might as well head in that direction. It's the trannies that I am worried about. Who has experience on these? Anxious in Las Vegas John

Welcome to the Stovebolt. You are at the right place, your answers will be forthcoming, I'm sure. Be patient. Look in the HiPo Shop forum and you will see many discussions going on regarding your current plans. Have fun here and don't forget to include pictures. We all love pictures!
