I installed a long shaft and my mechanic said there's not enough room between the fan and radiator. The only thing I can figure out is the engine is too far ahead? What do you think?

what is the measurement between your fan an radiator Tommy?
with a long pump a spacer and a flex fan
Mine sets at roughly 11/16" to 3/4" from the radiator an have had NP's with clearance.....runs good an cool even on a Humid August PA day.

Is it possible for you to measure from the face of the block to the radiator? I am hoping my long pump works. I have a ton of money in my motor. I purchased a complete march system for a long shaft. Take a look at my pictures on page 7.

Thanks for helping.

Really. I am going to see my truck tommorrow. We will see what we come up with.
He is a picture of my engine compartment. Looks like I can move my engine back 2" or so. I would rather do that than replace the march system.

Here's the result from today's visit. I have 8 1/2 inches to 9 inches between the water outlet where the water pump comes in contact and the radiator.

My mechanics plan is to remove the engine and cut the motor mounts off and move them back 2 1/2 inches. Problem solved.

Now I can use my long shaft water pump and march pulleys and brackets.

Thanks to all that helped.

Tom ,I had a better chance to measure mine.It is 10 1/2" from the block to the rad.The rad is forward to the grill-hood lock-fender mount thingy. At the rear the firewall is stock. There is about 2" clearance from the left side head [350 Chev] to the firewall. The HEI dizzy also has this clearance to the notch of the firewall

FYI, Patrick's sells a short water pump assembly to replace the longer original and keep the radiator and engine in the stock places. I plan on looking into it further so the radiator in my truck can be mounted back to origional. Radiator was mounted to front of support to make room for loner six.
