Thank you for this site ,I read quite a bit before signing up,(and printed some answers)
I have been banging away on my '49 3100 for years and am finally getting somewhere.
I now find myself looking for some answers to new questions.
I purchased tubular shock mounts and find no definitive instructions for location of these. (Classicparts sent me here)
I am also hoping to find an HEI distributor for my 216 cu .
I saw some Fenton cast iron headers that should fit the 216 ,but what happens to bottom hole on intake manifold.
I plan to paint the truck forest green, but am a little confused on the original interior color (champagne?)

J.A.H., Welcome aboard!
Try going to Tech Tips or Paint and Body Shop Threads here at the "Bolt." There are many ways to find the answers to your questions. Someone recently said most all questions have been answered here somewhere. I believe them!

Read this first. http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/ubb/search.pdf it is the link to the how to search info for the site. It will save you a lot problems finding what you are looking for. This has proven to be one of my most valuable research tools. Some pretty amazing people love these old trucks. They also are willing to share their information without making you feel like an fool.

Good luck

...hacker: Welcome to the bolt. Nice place to hang out. Some good advice on the search feature but don't be afraid to ask. No question to stupid to ask. Sometimes those that know the answers had rather brag about knowing the answers than tell you go go search smile But thats not me....I'm still learning to smile

In the Paint and Body Shop forum, search on champagne

Jim Carter sells a Fenton Exhaust intake warming kit.

Search the entire forum on Pertronix which is an electronic ignition (6v and 12v versions are available), not an HEI.
The Stovebolt Engine Company sells an HEI for a 216.

I finally got my drivers door and emergency brake lever to line up,which helped my fender alignment (floor was out of place)

I have used Pertronix units but I have never used a Langdon's Stovebolt mini HEI. I have had good service from the Pertronix unit (about 10 years for one and about 5 years for the other).

If you are referring to a 2-barrel from Landon's Stovebolt, give him a call and discuss it with him.

Maybe people will post personal experiences with the mini-HEI and a 2-barrel carb.
