Zipper's picture shows exactly what came with my '42. I believe that is a deluxe heater with separate motor for the defroster.

Just fair warning. The round heater cores in these are tough to come by and very expensive to get fixed. So most people are using the heaters with the square heater core that were either universal or came in later years.

Hey Leonard,
Not sure about everyone else's, but my old Arvin is just a radiator with an electric fan. Engine coolant is circulated through the "radiator" part, and the fan blows air over the coils, warming the air. Just like today's heaters!

Here is the one in my '46. http://good-times.webshots.com/album/565538643pLDDKn . I was told it was stock, but not sure. It has the defroster sitting on the top of it. Color is not factory. I rebuilt and finished it myself. Defroster and heater have a separate switch. Cecil.........

My 41 also has one just like that, only with brown wrinkle paint. Is it really not stock? It fits just like stock and it says Chevrolet on it. Perhaps it was a style just used for replacement?

Here is a scan of a Chevrolet truck 1942 dealer "Special Equipment" booklet. Looks like the correct one to me.

The heater in the picture only has 2 front doors; mine has three.

Heaters were not factory installed so they were a dealer option. There is no wrong heater
