Hey, I'm new here. I'm doing a frame up restoration on a 55.1, 5 window truck with a hydra-matic tranny. It was in fair shape so I won't have to do too much body work. The 235 engine has been completely machined and is waitin for me to put her back together. I had no idea of the condition of the tranny so I completely dissasembled it. I found just a couple of springs broken so i hope to get it back together soon. My biggest problem is finding the adjusting tools for the hydra-matic. The chassis is finished. I upgraded to front disc brakes and a power booster. I plan to convert to 12 volts too. It is taking a long time. I'm back into it again and excited about finishing.

Welcome to the bolt! Sounds like you have a lot of the work done. I like the one piece windshield but have never found one I could afford!
Good luck with the project and there is plenty of help around here when you need it!
What part of Utah are you in? I have relatives there....

Welcome to the bolt! Sounds like a fun project you have going there, what part of Utah are you in? I grew up in Salt Lake area but recently moved up north to West Point.
Can't wait to see some pictures.

I live in Orem, which is about 45 miles south of Salk Lake. I found this pickup being stored at my father-in-law's place about 8 years ago. i bought it for $500.00. I have some pre-disassembly pics and I am going to take some more. Just have to figure out how to post them. My wife had the grill chromed for me for last christmas. It looks so sweet! I see a lot of 54-55.1 front grills painted, not many fully chromed. I believe the original was full chrome, is that correct? Thanks for the welcome. I'm sure I will be asking more questions.
