The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Panels 'N Burbs Another Question on Suburban Panel Taillights

On the 1946 Panel and Suburban with barn doors, I can see where they have notches on the passenger side rear doors for electrical contacts. I also see where they have the cutout with the plate for inside access on both doors. Would this indicate that on right-hand drive trucks, (from down-under and across the pond) that the taillight was on the right rear door? And if rightly so, would it be inappropriate to mount a second taillight on the right side? Has anyone seen a truck with barn doors with two taillights? Could this have been an USA factory or dealer option?

46canopy, I plan on fitting the extra tail light on the right door on my 49. I feel the more lights on the rear of the truck the better it would be seen. I believe a couple burb and panel guys on our site have done this. Don't know about down under or across the pond but my RH door is set up like yours with the cutouts and the access panel for the electrics. Don't believe it was a dealer option but someone smarter than me will jump in and tell us. Weeds

My 52panel has the access panel on the right door but thats all and I believe it was 100% original when I got it.
