I bought an Offy dual intake and noticed the inside diameter seems small. I thought I saw a post that said there is a difference between a 216 manifold and the 235-261 manifold. I thought the post said the 216 had a slightly smaller inside diameter. Is anyone aware of this? Thank you. | | |

You have two choices to fix that. 1.) You can have a machine shop enlarge the ports so they match the head ports and accept the 235-261 alignment rings. 2.) You can call Steve at Buffalo Enterprises - phone number: (360).652.7684 and I believe he sells alignment ring adapter-reducers. By the way, I like your Stovebolt name!!  I hope no one gets us confused!

Third choice: if you bought it new and recently, get it exchanged. Might have been the result of dyslexia (216/261).
Otherwise, 6cylinderovertexas gave good advice.

IF you bought the Offy from The Stovebolt engine company, I had the same problem. They weld in the plugs on the underside of the manifold and sometimes they get put in the wrong box. Give Tom a call and he will ask for some dimensions. If you have the wrong one, he will send the right one quickly.

Same spacing port to port. 216 manifold will take the small base carbs, 235 will take the big bases. 2 of the bolts on the 4 bolt pattern where they bolt to the exhaust manifold (if not using headers) are different spacing. My favorite is to use the 216 manifold for the small base carbs and bore the ports to take the 235 alignment rings. | | |
