They come with a flare fitting like a fuel line, and I need a brass flare fitting. The filter is an original AC and the line has a part # of FT17. It is on a 1951 216 engine, Can anyone help? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | A good hardware store or auto parts store should have brass adapter fittings (NAPA has a good selection and can order any Weatherhead-Eaton brass fitting). Your best best is to bring the hoses and canister to the store and have them match-up the fittings.
Do you need an adapter that has a T fitting for the oil pressure line (usually where the right-side hose goes into the block)?

The reason is so that the line can be hooked up without having to twist the hose at least on one end. Your engine should have had the adapter fittings (one for each line) either on the block (that's where I've usually seen them) or on the filter housing itself. If you don't have it, then a trip to flaps is in order. Check out their brake line adapter fittings. Should be a 1/4" inverted flare x 1/8" NPT male fitting.
