1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 34 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.

It's enough so it misses a little if you run the engine at fast idle (the vacuum advance kicked in) but at curb idle and under load it runs great.
If I run it in the stock position I only get about 14. The engine is stock except for an auto choke rochester and a dual point distributor plate.

I have gotten 17mpg in that truck but not since I had the motor rebuilt. I was hoping to get 20mpg. :•( Oh well, good thing I have a Honda that gets 40+mpg and a Harley that gets aroung 47mpg.
Speaking of gas: There are lots of stations here in N. TexAss running out of the stuff. Is a shortage in the offing?

Hope it is getting better with the overdrive I have waiting in the garage.
The gas is verry expensive in Germany
A gallon is almost 3,60$ over here!
