There are several muncie, saginaw, and warner transmissions that will bolt right up. use the search feature, or ask more specific questions. the best transmission for your truck will depend on budget, and how you plan to drive/use your truck.
If your truck has a torque tube, you will likely have to swap out the rear end for an open drive rear.
If you have a 1 ton, or a heavier chassis, you may want a heavier transmission like an A833, which was used in gm trucks with the designation my6. Over drive will give your truck new life assuming the breaks are also in proper working order.
Here is a partial list of transmissions that will bolt up.

I had the same problem with my 59 with the sm420 granny low transmission. I would reccomend a heavier transmission for a 3/4 ton truck. The A833(my6) would be high on the list, but it will take some machining to make it a bolt on deal. Your 3/4 ton likely has 4.57 gears. You can swap the pumpkin out for a 4.11 gearset. An overdrive transmission with a .73 final drive will give you an effective 3.34 gear ratio with your stock gears. That would put you around 2350 rpm @65 mph with 31 inch tall tires. You would be at 2113 rpm if you changed the rear gears to 4.11 with the same OD transmission and tires.

The T5 was a 5 speed found in a variety of vehicles. You probably would want 1 out of a chevy s10 pickup. You should be able to leave your rear end alone for now. The t5 is not a heavy duty transmission, and may not live long in a heavier vehicle, but it should match up pretty well with a 235's powerband.
With any transmission swap you will likely have to have a new driveshaft made.
