That is what order and what things hooked together before installation. The rear end is in place. We're talking about a 49 1/2 ton. Let me know of most likely errors and how to avoid. Would like to have to do only once since I have to recruit some help. Thanks for all replys. | | |

Do you have a shop manual? It explains how to install the u-joint and the driveshaft torque-tube.
Is the cab off the frame?

Yes, the cab is off the frame and I do have the shop manual(well worn from use, I might add}. I will reread the germane section before this weekend. #44621 10/15/2003 1:16 AM | Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 141 Member | | Member Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 141 | Tim is right about the procedure. Now is the time to also install new motor mounts and a new transmission mount. If you have a 4 speed your install is much, much simpler with the cab off.
I have just complete the reverse of what you are doing ... remove engine, tranny, rear end from a '51 chassis. Now have the frame about 1/2 done. Removed about 30 lbs of rust/grease so far.
