I may be buying a 63 C20 from my work soon. It was taken in trade, and it's not wanted. I gave it a brief look-over, and it appears to be solid. The rain gutter does not appear to have any rust in it, but I had a brain fart and didn't look at the fenders/rockers and cab corners. It has a late 6 230/250 and SM420, probably 4.56 gears from what I've read, and a stake bed. What else should I be looking for? I've always liked the 62-63 bodies with the small hood and wrap-around windshield. I just don't know the series real well.

Hy 55 tractor, check out the front end as well, the early 60s used torsion bar suspension setup 60-63 I think. The ball joints that they used are getting HARD to find, hope that helps

63 is conventional up front. For the body, check above the windshield on the "brow" for rust, lower rear part of the front fenders and the radiator core support where it attaches to the frame. These are always bad but have replacements available,

I have a 63 C20. Think you already know the bad areas, but as 48bigtrucks says check the windshield brow. I've had mine now for almost 10 years. The only problem I had was the 292 cracked the block between 3 & 4, letting oil into the water. Check your 230/250 side covers, if 6" high it's a 292. I'm in the central valley if I can help let me know.
