Hope this doesn't sound to dumb.
While flipping through the factory assembly manual for the 52 I didn't find any information on how to install the front grill or the bed. Maybe I missed the grill part but I'm sure I didn't miss the bed installation part.

I've got the little pamplet that shows how the bed goes together and all but was curious on how the factory did it if it wasn't in the manual.

The reprint "1947-54 Factory Truck Assembly Manual" is actually a reprint of 1954 model year documents. That could explain why there isn't a '52 grille in it.

So Charlie, is there any other manual available that does show the grille assembly?? I have the reprint but I knew it was based on 54.......is there another/better one out there that anyone knows about? If so maybe IT needs to be reprinted.

I'm sure the factory had documents of the type for the assemblers prior to the '54 run but I have never seen them reproduced.

Old dog: from what I could serch and find also has the "factory reprint".
I honestly think I can assemble mine pretty good without any instructions since I took it a part but its always nice to have some help "just in case". I will watch for an "original" around the swap meets and flea markets......and then I can reprint them:)

First off I wanted to say thanks for all the replys.

But now I have to say that I feel cheated. I bought a 47-52 factory assembly manual that really isn't. I'm confident that I can put anything back together anything that I took apart, especially since I've got a digital camera. I wanted the manual as a reference source "just in case".

Well I guess I'll have to go by the 54 down the street, can't have the manual without the truck. I'm sure the wife will understand.

the factory assembly manuals for any series weren't redone every year of the series, they did one for the beginning [like 47 2nd series] and put out 'change bulletins' for differences the following years, sometimes supplements, and the 54 was likely that, because of major changes .... someone got hold of a good 54 assembly manual and reprinted it [with permission from GM] ... if you could find the change sheets for 52, or any other AD year, you could pay the piper and start selling reprints too

note that the shop manuals have mostly the same info and pictures from the beginning to the end of any series - the 55-59 assembly manual has a date on every page, nearly all 1954 [when they started building them] and a few 1955, and the only grille shown is the 55/6 .... what are the dates on the 47-54 assembly manual? 1953, when the 54 was started?
