I wanted to take it back to where it was born (Norwood Ohio plant) but it was torn down years before it was back on the road but it went to the town of the original owner which is Franklin Ohio, they have a show in the downtown area and even parked it on the same street of the company (4th street). The building is still there but the company is long gone and the building is not in the show area and would of been neat to park in the lot again but it was in the area,if it could only talk of where it made deliveries. The only parts that are original are the complete cab, hood and grille shell, frame and front springs and other small parts,I have known about this show before i got it back on the road but always forgot but today I went and had a good time and the 37 got to spend some time at home. Cool story and beautiful truck! I like the way you kept the running gear original and just updated the engine... I'm taking the same course on mine which was built at the same factory.

Great story man! If it was possible to actually talk with these old cars/trucks to get their story, what a cool conversation that would be. grin

From what I can figure the company that originally owned my truck was a farm supply store so it hauled seed and anything a farmer could use,I found the town has a historical society so I will go back and try to find some info on the company and see if there used to be a dealer in town who could of possibly sold the truck to them. There has been some changes to the truck since I sent in the pics,it has been lowered about 3 to 4 inches all the way around and I installed a T-5 with a modern rear end and disc brakes but it looks like it did only a little lower. I found a company making reproduction artillery wheels and had the 37 hubcaps modified to work with them and painted them the same color and if you look inside I welded a original shifter to the T-5 and made a bracket to bolt the original emergency brake handle to the T-5 so the interior looks like it did wth only the shifter a little farther back and the E brake handle over a little to the right some. The interior has all the stock panels covered in the tweed and the trim of the seats are in leather,I am thinking about redoing the interior in something more simple like what a truck interior of that era should look like but in leather. It was originally a flatbed but I think it was ordered as a cab and chassis but I dont like the look of a 1/2 ton flatbed and bought a reproduction bed, since I could not find any decent fenders and running boards I got fiberglass and they look like steel untill you touch them. Untill last winter it was basicly a original truck with a 57 235 but over the winter I installed a T-5 and a modern rear end along with a dropped axle and disc brakes so now I can go on the highways comfortably. With the reproduction artillery wheels it still looks like it did in the pics but is about 4 inches lower all the way around,I also installed a stereo in the glove box but with the short glass packs its sometimes hard to hear even with 4 speakers but the stereo location will have to be changed since I picked up a 36 car glove box door with the clock and ash tray and there wont be enough room in the glove box with that door on due to the clock sticking in some. I am now happy with it as now I can drive it at faster speeds and it stops better too. Jeff
