I told him I didn't have the money with me and he said "I'd rather you owe me than me owe you". With that said he signed over the title and said come out and get it this afternoon. And by the way, he told me he wouldn't be home but just take it and we'll get together sometime.
We came out later that day and it fired right up with a lot of pumping because the choke is gone. I mean really gone, removed, missing! Here are a few pictures of it when we picked it up and when we got it home. We drove it 65 miles per hour all the way and it ran like a top. The rancher told me after we cut the deal that he had a installed a new exhaust, Goodyear Wrangler tires, battery and a new front drive shaft assembly recently.
In my other post I forgot to mention it's a four wheel drive. This is an honest ranch truck complete with ammo in the seat cover and fence staples on the floor. The best part is my kid had been talking about finding a 1969 Chevrolet truck. The very best part is the day we picked it up was his 10th birthday and I gave it to him as a present. Hopefully this will keep him busy and off the streets!
There is a bit of rust which I guess is expected. Cab corners, rockers and a couple other spots. All in all it should be a fun truck to mess around with.

The men will have to mow a lot of yards to fix this up. Fortunately they have a few years.

Great score! I love the truck.
Now, go buy some manuals and books and start scrounging for parts!
Next time I need a new truck I'm going to go out west to go shopping!

My 67 is in pretty decent shape for around here, wish it was a 4x4 though, it might grow into one someday. I still need to come up with a title for it though. http://img57.imageshack.us/my.php?image=67chevy005st6.jpg | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 1,186 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 1,186 | Hey Rob, Looks like we have almost the same truck. I didn't realize mine was a fwd until I really went to look at it. Should be fun to mess around with. Not sure how much I'll do on it as far as restoration right now though.
