| | | | Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 203 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 203 | I went to order a 9 1/4" clutch for my truck from Classic Parts and they said their supplier no longer made them, so they're only selling conversion kits that come with a new pressure plate. I checked with a few other vendors, and it's the same with them.
Anyone else heard this? Anyone know of a place you can still find these?

They can re-line you old clutch disk. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,867 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,867 | A good shop that does brake work can reline your clutch and rebuild your pressure plate, usually for cheaper then buying one. Talk with your local Napa or parts store as they usually have a source to send them out for a rebuild.
My COE has the goofy 9 bolt pressure plate and 10 3/4" clutch that isnt as easy to find parts for. It was around $125 for both to be rebuilt through our local parts store. They both turned out great and I was happy with the cost and workmanship.
Jeff | | | | | Joined: Nov 2000 Posts: 1,966 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2000 Posts: 1,966 | About 3 years ago I had the same thing as Jeff: 10 3/4" clutch with 9 bolt pressure plate in my 50 Chevy 3600. Classic Parts (Chevy Duty then) had me send them the cores and they rebuilt them: cleaned, clutch disc relined, pressure plate surfaced and springs replaced. I was very satisfied. I'm surprised they did not offer that on your 9 1/4".
