All right i have a 1950 1 ton chevy truck with a 235, i also have a 5:11 rear end. What would i gain by going to better ratio for highway driving? Would it help that much? And if it would be a good idea to do this? What will fit under it? with a minimal amount of work. I want to keep the dual tires on the back. Well thanks in advance.

I had Randy's do the work, just to be sure I didn't make any expensive errors. I would have gone with 3.90:1, except the used 4.11's were cheaper and I still haul stuff. Wound out in 4th used to get me close to 40 mph, now it hums along at 50+ and I still have the granny low.
