Before I loose my %$#@%^&ing mind. Can someone please tell me through these numbers what engine this is. The numbers are from off the block on the drivers side back at the firewall area. I have 5 people INCLUDING Canadian Tire saying 5 things. I repeat to them the engine is probably NOT the original engine. Here are the numbers 3958188 Thanx ! I should have come here in the first place where the real pros are. Cheerz !

Is this in your '66 bus? Is it a V-8 or 6? Is it a Chevy or a GMC?

the 'bible' doesn't list that number, or any with '8188' - was it very clear? maybe 3956618? 395 could be a 302, 283, 327, 350, or even 400 which of course will be your different answers .... a better ID will be the stamped number on the pad at the lower front of the pass. side head, indicates application, or see here for other number locations and their meaning - got any pictures?
