I have hauled many loads of road rock, lumber, retaining wall block, mulch etc and she just keeps on purring like a kitten. Earlier today, I hauled a couple tons of 3/4" limestone crush and run to be used for a retaining wall base and once again she didn't let me down.
The only thing my truck really needs (besides electric wipers) is a cup holder. How about some creative ideas on how some of you may have solved this issue.
I already have a few ideas myself, but will welcome any and all suggestions, as I like to do things right the first time.
Thanks
John

It didn't fit my cup and bounced around spilling coffee everytime I hit a bump. So what I did was got a piece of heavy wall PVC pipe, cut a line down one side then using a heat gun I flattened it out. Once it cooled I marked a 3/4 inch wide cross. I cut that out and using the heat gun heated one section at a time forming it to fit my cup exactly. After some sanding I painted it to match the interior. I used a bolt and a wing nut to attach it to the bottom of the dash. It works great, and looks pretty darn good as well. | | | | Joined: Jan 1970 Posts: 365 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 1970 Posts: 365 | When I was in the irrigation business full time, I carried one of those big 44 oz cups. I found a 4" pvc pipe cap would fit the cup nicely after I cut a small section out of the side of the cap to allow room for the handle. I then screwed it to the floorboard of the superduty F-250 I was driving.
I was considering doing the same thing in the semi until I priced the cap--they have quadrupled in price!!! I ended up using a smaller cup with the style of cupholder in Czeckman's second picture. I broke off the tab that goes down into the wndow channel and used one of the screws for the ashtray to secure the cupholder to the lower dash of the KW T-800. There might be someplace that you could do the same thing with. | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 | I always thought it was snugging your can of Bud between your legs. I hope to put a new radio in there and still have some cd storage. Back to the cup holder. I think I can adapt the ashtray to a cup holder. Maybe use a hole saw to cut out hardwood for the holder. Anyway if it works out I will post the results. I have an extra to play with. | | |
