I haven't driven it on the road yet.It hasn't been driven much for several years. It idles rough and lunges some while idleing. The spark plugs are not oiled but have heavy carbon deposit. As soon as I cleaned them they have a deposit. After the engine warms up I start getting smokey exhaust and it smells as thought it is burning to rich. Compression check shows 135 to 145 per cylinder. Is this a carburetor problem? Someone installed an electronic ignition on it. Scott Brown [email protected]

I would agree it is a carb problem. If it is a Roch. model B they are pretty simple. Check the float for haveing gas in the pontoons. Check the power piston makeing shure it's not stuck. Make shure there is a passigway in the base gasket so vacuum can get to the hole in the bottom of the carb.

Fuel, Fuel, and more Fuel!
Do the standard float, Pump, Jet check.
Make sure to replace the plugs when you find the problem.
Carbon tracking is not repairable!
