I'll take a couple of pics of the '62 Chev truck-tractor soon and post them, its quite rusty and without motor and trans, so there is much to be done to it. The '63 Chev truck tractor is actually nothing more than a cab on a frame rail with all three axles, fifth wheel, dual fuel tanks, but without a front end and without running gear. I didn't mean to imply that either truck was a runner, just a hope that one day they may return to the road. I have fond memories of riding in these trucks as a young boy with my dad.
I do have some great old pictures of these trucks and other similar trucks which I'll post soon. One of these trucks is a 1958 conventional GMC tandem dump with lots of chrome. My dad ordered the truck new, drove it all the way from Detroit to Raleigh and thought it was the sharpest truck around. It had a Pontiac V8 motor and would fly, but the motor would not stay together.
I'll try to get some of this stuff together soon and put them on my webshot album. Thanks for your interest! JAMES

I have a 74 C60 with a 292 and dump box. I'v just got done replacing the master cylinder and Hydrovac. We use it to haul stuff for the horses. Rock, (Washignton has lots of mud) horse crap, lots of that tooo. I hope to rebuild it a bit at a time, but not really sure if I'm up to it or not. It's got a bit of rust, but runs pretty well. Leaks a bit, but one thing at a time. Next on the things to do list. Fab up a bracket for the hydrovac/rear end breathers. Connect the dump box/valve cable and perhaps some new door bushings.

I have a 67 c-40 with a 283 v-8 (original) with sm420 4speed. I have a 12 ft. contractor body with twin ram hoist on it. It has a 4000lb. front and 15000lb rear axle. I purchased the truck in 1984 and have used it almost daily since. It is on Jim Carters site (Old Chevy Trucks .Com) under working trucks. He did the story about 4-5years ago at Iola. I am going to freshen up the motor and body this summer.

My Dad and I have a '60 c60 viking with a 19' flat/dump bed. We got it at a salvage yard (running). We use it around the farm to haul hay, wood and other stuff. We are about to start a slow and painful rebuild. Mostly electrical. Has a 235 and 4 spd tranny. By the way. I am lookign for a brake master cylinder and a hood. (my dad didn't scotch the wheel and it rolled into a tree, a few farm implements). I also have a 65 ford 2ton with a 18' flat/dump bed. That was a big mistake the original industrial motor is 100% shot. No fixing, I tried.
