looked at your pics site earlier this evening and all i can say is "would you just write a book!".

seriously, i thought i was anal retentive and detail oriented, but you are seriously impressive! you have done an amazing job of documenting, analyzing, and detailing the most finite examples of how to restore a advanced design truck (specifically the 1950 3/4 ton chevrolet's) that it makes me envious and at the same time proud that someone has taken the time to document the finite information, if for no other reason then referential and historical. those of us who care about authenticity, will have a point of reference to look back on and know that someone took the time to be specific about the details of our old trucks. i am constantly annoyed by the "e-bay" restored trucks that lack the attention to detail that you seek out, and that i can't help but appreciate and admire your dedication.

Geeze Louise, I don't deserve all that p.j., I just have to much time on my hands now that I'm retired! Actually what ya gotta do is put all that other stuff that gets in the way on the back burner, like family gatherings, going out to dinner, the house chores, painting, mowing the grass, trimming bushes, etc. I’ve turned my “big old wife” down for movie dates so many times in the last couple of years that she’s now got a steady girl friend that will go with her.
I have to admit that sometimes I carry things a bit to far but I try as much as possible to do things the way they were originally done at the factory. Me dah taught us to pay attention to detail when working in the shop and I keep trying to refine it even more.
My brother and just about all of my friends are street rodders and it has always just torn me up to see them seeking out a perfect steel body then proceed to destroy it by chopping, sectioning, frenching it beyond recognition. Every one of those cars/trucks is one that is lost to the future generation. One day the only examples of vehicles in their original form will be in museums.
Anyway tks for the kudos, that’s not why I do it, I really do enjoy sharing these little projects with anyone who cares to hear about them. There are a lot of guys with more talent than I have out there but there are also a lot of guys that for one reason or another never had the opportunity that I did and I hope I can help them out.

KUDOS to Denny !. I like his detail about subjects also. Reminds me, alot of me. I just don't like typing enough, to put all my thoughts in a thread.

I agree with Spanky and I too like to pay attention to details and also take pics.....its just that I am not a whiz at the computers and my ace (daughter) doesn't live close anymore so a lot goes "un-documented". But I'm getting better. Maybe by the time I get the panel done I will have figured out how to use all this stuff......which will be to late of coarse!

I think Denny underestimates his contribution us poor saps out here who rely on his postings and photos. They have been almost as much help as the assembly manual. There are several others on this site that like Denny are a study in experience, patience, knowledge and attention to detail. I would also like to thank Denny and the others for their contributions to my 52 1/2 ton. I do wish that he and several others would get together and put there work on the Advanced Design Truck in a book form. I haven't seen one out there that comes close to what is on this site. Achipmunk, take lots of pictures so when you do get arround to the documentation you will have them.
