Yes. They were put there to mount the rubber floor mats. I believe you can still buy reproduction mats from the specialty stores, but most guys put in carpet.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

If you use the original-style rubber mat (Brothers has them on sale at this time) You should consider getting a die-cut under-layment (both the mat and the under-layment will have holes for those "pegs").

If you are looking for the original look, this combinations looks original and it significantly decreases noise.

Brothers also sells carpet to fit 47-55 cabs.

So George and Tim, what year 1952 did they start putting pegs in in the floor for the mats???
None of the '50s had them.

My '48 has them also, and two more by the ends of the seat frame.

Well now isn't that just amazing! After two years of crawling around me old 1950 truck cleaning, re-upholstering, cleaning the floors, repainting seat skirts, re-fitting a new rubber mat, replacing all of the grommets and pedal felt, re-storing the parking brake boot and cover and a hundred other things that I did under the dash and all this time I never noticed the pegs!!!!! Heck, I must have spent literally months inside the cab.
Yep your all correct, on the toe board there are three on the passenger side, two on the driver side but Tom, I find no evidence of there ever being any anywhere near the seat frame.
Boy, this is just a constant leaning experience, seems like every day I discover something new about these trucks. I wonder if it’s possible to know all there is about them, I mean just the AD’s alone.

My '54 has them, or had them. I think only one is left, on the passenger side toe board.
