Anyone have knowledge of who this is and contact information? Thanks. Jerry | | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,897 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,897 | bump!
This topic is too interesting to slip away unnoticed. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 71 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 71 | intake? why would a special intake manifold be needed? do you mean exhaust manifold?

Pick a place to mount it that will allow ease of plumbing and go to work adding intake and exhaust tubing. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | You know, this very thing pops into my head every time I go to the Hoosier Swap Meet! They have a decent turn out of guys with'Vair parts, I always seem to fing at least 1 turbo for those, and usually more than that. They look to be about right for a 235, I've actually considered running 2 on mine, one for each carb/header.

It's really more just a case of "Hmm, I wonder if that'll work? " kind of thing.

Take a good look at the crankshaft, main bearings, and connecting rods berfore you start adding the stress of a turbo to that bottom end. The 216/235/261 engines don't have enough main bearings to resist some serious crankshaft twisting, and the con rods are way too flimsy to take much turbo boost. Now, a 292 with a good set of billet rods would be an entirely different story! Jerry
