It was disconnected by one of the po's and I tried to figure it out but didn't get very far.
Secondly, I have to replace my sending unit due to it being clogged completely, no getting the gunk out of that, and plus it's in bad shape, with the band that connects to the float being broke off on one side. Which company has the best one? I went to my local store and they didn't know where we could get one. | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 | Well, I forgot to mention that I needed info on how the wiper motor arm thing connected to the wiper arm. | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | Jordan, can't exactly answer your questions here but have you looked at the online manual link? It may have a pic or two in it and you know that "a picture is worth a thousand words". I'm sure you can get the parts you need from JimCarter...or other vendors like AMerican Classic | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 | Well, I've looked in my shop manual but the only thing it shows is how to get the arm off of the rod that goes through the cowl(if that is the right word) below the windshield. The rod that goes through below the windshield is connected at a joint to another rod(flatter wider piece of metal, whereas the rod that goes through below the windshield is round) that goes to the wiper motor. This joint is my problem. That's where it was disconnected, and the weird shaped piece of metal that has the flat rod connected at one end has a hole for the round rod(I know this is hard to understand but I'm doing the best I can to explain) to go through. The round rod has some of the material removed on the end to make it rectangualar so that it can fit through the hole in the metal piece at the joint. I'm not sure how to go about keeping that rod attached to the piece of metal that makes up the joint. | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 649 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 649 | JDL, just sent you a PM with pic. Let me know if I can be of any more help. The other end of the rod "smaps" over the ball on the wiper motor rod. | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 | Yakimabowtie, thanks for the picture, but it's the other side where the wiper arm goes through the cowl that is the problem. The part where the glove box should be, but I don't have a glove box so I can see what I'm talking about. You'd probably have to take yours out to see what I'm talking about.(if you have one) | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 | Anywho, I got it on, but I'm not sure how good it is going to stay on. | | |
