I need to find out if anyone can modify a 4L60E to not require computer controls. I have to use late model, because of the removable bellhousing, otherwise I'd just get a 700R4.
I've got a 2.2L 4 cyl. for my daughter's Nash Metro project, and it has a narrow bellhousing pattern.
I've called Hughes, they can't do it. Our tranny guys at work have different opinions and don't know........
Worse comes to worse, I'll just run fully computerized OBD2 driveline, but carbs are cooler!

TCI makes a computer to run it for you, but it isn't cheap. http://tciauto.com/electronics/index.htm Summit sells them. This is from Novak Earlier engines can be joined to the 4L60-E by use of a GM Controller, #12497316. Carbureted engines will require a Throttle Postion Sensor.

If Im gonna spend $$$$ for an aftermarket box, I may as well scrounge up more GM factory PCM/TCM parts and go stock. I'm kinda hoping that the cases are similar, and I can just swap valve bodies and drill/add a TV cable, and fill the big wiring hole. I do a fair amount of machine work here at the house, so Im up for most anything!  Thanks!
