For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! I was wondering what a fail price should be for a motor? any thoughts...... | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 874 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 874 | Is it a full pressure 235? Does it run? If so does it smoke? Have good compression? How many miles on it? | | | | | Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 615 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 615 | They're not exactly scarce..on any given day there are 4 or 5 on ebay. From "as-is" to rebuilt. $100-S1,900. For an as is that has no known problems I personaly wouldn't pay more that $350. Just too many around...of course hopefully one is near you..that counts too.
Just my $.02

It is running and in a panel truck, with 170K miles on it, it has new heads and carb and he wants 600.00 for it. Even at that it was much more than I am willing to part with considering my 216 only has 27K miles on it and has leaky seals. If I could find one for 350, I agree that would be best. Are the passenger car 235s the same, I have someone that has a 1957 235 they are looking to get rid of. Otherwise there won't be enough clearance between the 57's water pump with the fan installed and the radiator. | | |
