Not often seen but not totally uncommon either. Does it bolt to the floor using the standard captured nuts like the bench seat? Why would you want a split seat as a new owner back in '56? Is the passenger side removable to allow you to carry cargo up front? I'd bet they were what was used in sedan deliveries, GM "recycled" parts a lot

I'll try to get more pics when i'm back on the farm.
