Just talked to Coffey Transmissions in Ft. Worth. They advertise in Hemmings and claim to specialize in the vintage Hydros. Would appreciate comments from anyone who has dealt with them. Mine is in desperate need of rebuilding.

I don't know about Coffey but I took mine to local trans shop where owner is old enough to have worked on them when they were new. Good Luck.

Trouble is most of those guys are either semi-retired or semi-dead. One I called in Phoenix only comes in a couple of days a week, which does not sound promising for a quick turnaround. One I called in Tucson quoted $2000-3000. Seems a bit high, almost like he'd rather not bother with the job at all.
