I found an article here or someplace on installing a 74-86 Chev. Pickup IFS into an advance design truck. Can anyone help me find this. I have purchased a donor truck, and now can't find the article. It had pix, and was very good.

Halfton, theres lots of articles out there on this subject, I've seen it too. I even tried it, but didn't like the idea of my wheels sticking out past my fenders. Maybe it works if you like the 4x4 look. Since then I've seen where bolters have narrowed that IFS, just do a search on this site and you'll find more info.

BUT without narrowing the front cross member "saddle" a couple of inch's this swap puts the tires out pretty wide, and they will stick out of the fenders some.

Check with mobileortho he's a bolter on here that has done this swap and it's got to be the sweetest install ever...

Halfton,I did this swap and realy liked it, to get the tires back under the fenders I used the rallye wheels from a chev van,15" on the front only. I used regular rallye wheels from the pickup on the back. the van wheels have a different offset,I"m guessing 1&1/2" to 2",in other words the backspacing is greater than the pu. looks great. good luck,allen
