It's made of some sort of plastic, and does seem to be the main sorce of problem woth the 700R4. It is a dealer item, and you will have to drill your own hole for the retainer pin. You'll most likely see the center worn out of the gear where it rides on the drive gear.

| | | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 33 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 33 | Iff its hanging downshifts when you come to a stop the spool is sticking. Polish it with a little scotchbrite pad and reasemble. Try some shift additve with "esters" fixes notoriuosly sticky 700s right up.
