What is in the road tube breathers for packing? Nothing in mine. Is something new available or can I find something local?

When I cleaned mine, it was stuffed with real course "steel wool". Not that it was steel, more like brass or copper. It reminded me of the "Cops" TV show when they find a pipe for smoking crack, they usually find some brass looking steel wool to stuff into the pipe. nono Ed
