My cousin asked me if I'd pinstripe his truck for him using just using 3M vinyl striping. I'm new to stovebolt and my dad said this the place to come for info.
My question is what kind of surface prep will make this go the easiest and make them last?
Is there a better striping to use besides the 3M?

Ive had great luck with all 3M products,surface prep is just to go to your local FLAPS and get a qrt/pint if they have it wax and grease remover and give the area to recieve the pinstipe a good cleanin, an ya should have no issues.

Ok so with the weather the way it is in southern MN (cold,snowy,& rainy) Once i get the striping on, do I have to let the truck sit for a while inside before I can take it outside? Or is it good to go once its on there?

Hi bwinter! I agree with SW, 3M products are as good as they get.
I don't think you need to let your truck 'sit'.
Just remember to re-wax the areas you've degreased after the striping is done!
P.S. I hope they don't salt the roads in MN!

They make an edging pencil to help seal the new striping if you want it. Not mandatory, but cheap insurance against some of it lifting after you've finished. Once you get it laid down, maybe 10-20 minutes to work out any bubble issues and you're good to go. Good luck.
