Does anybody know where we can find a carrier bearing bushing? It's for a '48 gmc fc303 1 1/2 ton truck. We found it in the catalogue at Jim Carter Classics, but they're apparently out of stock.

Are you talking about the rubber cushion the carrier bearing sits in? If so youll have to look for one on ebay, etc. They no longer make that part and thats why Jim Carter doesnt carry it, along with the other vendors.

that's the part. yikes! is there any backup plan for that, if people can't find the bushing?

What years will work, if I find it on ebay or someplace like that? Did they use the bushing for a while?

A backup plan could be the whole assembly.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
