I just bought a sandblasting cabinet from a friend of mine. It was missing some things when I bought though (gloves, hoses, etc...) Was able to install new hoses (air and media) for the unit. It doesn't have a light, but there's room in it to put one in. What kind of light fixture and bulb should I get for it? Also, there's a hole in the back @ 2" diameter. Is this for the vacuum? Lastly...where's the best place to get gloves? Would local FLAPS, Lowes, Home Depot carry something comparable? I really like not to order online due to shipping.

I have two cabinets I have built. One has a 2 foot fluorescent fixture in it and the other cabinet (larger) has two PAR flood lamps in it. The abrasive doesn't seem to hurt either of the lamps but they do get dirty.

My units are wired with a toggle switch. When you flip it, the vacuum AND lights come on!

Installing a shop vac into the cabinet is a good idea. Don't forget you need makeup air too. If the vac sucks out, you need fresh air in, so there should be a hole for that too.

I think you might be hard pressed to find actual 'screw in' blast cabinet gloves anywhere other than the net. Eastwood or TIP might have them.

Check your local Feed Store you should be able to pick up shoulder length heavy black rubber gloves there, mine carries em for Farmers.
Worth stoppin in and ask I bet.
