I have brought it home sandblasted, etched primed and painted underneath. I have started painting a lot of the small bits, which include all the bonnet bits.
I purchased the stainless bolts and screws and put it together. Looking at the bonnet i noticed 3 holes either side and 1 hole in the centre seam. I've looked at a couple of suppliers catalogues and nothing. I would believe that the 3 holes either side are for rubber stoppers, but the 1 hole in the centre has me baffled. The strip on top covers the hole. Maybe something hung from the centre, like a light? Could the bonnet be from another year?

I always assumed it was for alignment when the put the two halfs together.
