Will the head from an earlier 230/250 fit a later 250 engine that had an integral head.

I have a line on a rebuilt 250 out of an early 80's pick up but it has that integral head on it and I want to run an offy intake and headers. I have a 230 and can use the head off that if it'll work

Thanks in advance. Fran.

Yes they will interchange. You will have no problem at all, the 230/250/292 heads are almost just alike, they all are with in a few cc's of each other. Just remember to not torque the left front head bolt as much as the rest of them. Actually, its all four corners, but the left front is the one to watch. Joe

Another head to consider is the late '80s 250 2 bbl head. I know that it is an integral head, but it is supposed to be an upgraded "performance" head for the L6 and in '87 and '88 came with a dual exhaust manifold as well.
