| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 202 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 202 | I have two Chevy trucks. One an 87 Full size 4X4 and a 90 Full size G20 Travel Van. Neither had good dash lights until I found through searching a year ago on the net. I thought I would share this with you bolters or just old truck lovers. I removed the dash out of my pick up and bought bumper chrome paint. Can't find the actual chrome paint car companies use. I removed the bulbs and did a bit of masking and sprayed the piece which is a light blue with the chrome paint. I also masked and painted the black bezel on the reverse side facing the dash lights the same way. I let it dry then stuck new GE Night Hawk bulbs in them and its a much improved difference. I can see the gauges without squinting. I did the same on the van and "Hot Dog", it did the same thing! Just a low tech way to get better dash lights on most any rig. Real chrome paint would work even better and if anybody knows where I can get it please let me know. Its worth the work and not really hard to do. Have fun and enjoy! | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | That will also work on taillight housing. | | |
