Tim, you never cease to amaze me. How big is your library? How do you instantly answer all these technical questions? Thanks so much for all that info, even if I ain't doing the asking.

Peter,

I'm not at all amazing - I have a pretty good library but I also have a large list of bookmarks. Keith Hardy is the amazing person. He has made available a wealth of information about Chevrolet Trucks. .

His on-line 1929-1957 Chevrolet Truck Master Parts Catalog is much easier to use that the originals in my library. A lot of time was spent by Keith in making this MPB easy to use - check it out.

Thank you, Keith Hardy.

Pete,
I don't know if the 54 core is the same as the earlier years but I got a new round core from Jim Carter. It wasn't as thick as the Canadian version so the radiator shop had to add some plates to fit it in.

Here's and update on my heater after I got it reconditioned. There has been talk of slow fan motors etc.
I had the core repaired, motor serviced, new coolant with a shutoff valve to the core in the summer and got a new rheostat type switch to replace a sporadic paddle switch.. It works like a charm. On high it blows like my cars fan and I can control it better with the new switch... So I guess all the effort and expense was worth it... Peter
