How big is your library? How do you instantly answer all these technical questions? Thanks so much for all that info, even if I ain't doing the asking. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | Peter, I'm not at all amazing - I have a pretty good library but I also have a large list of bookmarks. Keith Hardy is the amazing person. He has made available a wealth of information about Chevrolet Trucks. . His on-line 1929-1957 Chevrolet Truck Master Parts Catalog is much easier to use that the originals in my library. A lot of time was spent by Keith in making this MPB easy to use - check it out. Thank you, Keith Hardy. Tim | | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 327 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 327 | thanks for that info Tim... Any idea where I could get a core for my 54. hey you could make a song out of this question!!!! Thanks Peter | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | Pete, I don't know if the 54 core is the same as the earlier years but I got a new round core from Jim Carter. It wasn't as thick as the Canadian version so the radiator shop had to add some plates to fit it in. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 327 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 327 | Here's and update on my heater after I got it reconditioned. There has been talk of slow fan motors etc. I had the core repaired, motor serviced, new coolant with a shutoff valve to the core in the summer and got a new rheostat type switch to replace a sporadic paddle switch.. It works like a charm. On high it blows like my cars fan and I can control it better with the new switch... So I guess all the effort and expense was worth it...
