Mod | | Forums66 Topics126,780 Posts1,039,291 Members48,100 | Most Online2,175 Jul 21st, 2025 | | | Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 17 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 17 | hello to all here is a old 5 window GMC 5 ton series 640 will be heading in the shredder,HAS 2 large hoods that opens from the sides, IT has a VERY LARGE 6 cylinder eNGINE with 2 carburetors and large Exhauat manifold about4 inches thick, Has air brakes Complete drivetrain, CAB is junk. it is in a old salvage yard which will be cleared out THere are other large heavy trucks also I dont know nothing about the condition of motor or trans just fact it has been sitting for long time thanks Also about 1957 Gmc Cabover large series,will be crushed shortly dont know nothing of it,just in the woods, Also have old early 50,s CHEVY 4 door cab on a logging crane,it is like to cabs welded together on backsides,but it is manufactured that way and has 2 control panels to operate the 2 cranes,Selling only sheet metal,decent body,crane will be going in shredder.

The only 2-carb GMC's I can remember were the 502 cubic inch 12-cylinders, IMHO.
OOPS! I just noticed the year! Those big inline 6's were used in the road tractors in the late 40's and early 50's. My uncle owned one that he used towing the big boats he repaired, with a lowboy trailer. Nothing much will interchange between them and the 216/235 engines. Jerry
