| | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 84 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 84 | Have a '66 283 stock motor. I don't know if I made a mistake but I have a new radiator with inlet hose diameter larger than my pipe and short hoses that go to the thermostat housing (1 1/2").
The question is: I can connect the hose and pipe to the thermo housing but not the radiator tank because it will not quite stretch over it. What should I do? I hate to eliminate the pipe because then it won't look stock. Is there some reducer that can go on the radiator?

You can buy universal flexible hoses with different end ID's, check at your local quality, real parts store and give them the length needed plus the ID of each end.

I don't know the sizes you're dealing with but NAPA has items #735-2891 which is a 1 1/4" X 1 1/2" adapter and item # 735-2892 which is a 1 3/4" X 2" adapter.
