I spray painted the dash of my el camino 15 years ago, now I want to remove my teen age handy work.

There are some "green" paint strippers that might be tame enough to strip the paint without harming the plastic. It should say on the label.

Here is a trick that we use in the paint industry, as horrid as it sounds.
Easy Off (blue can) will remove paint without hazing or scaring plastic. We use it on signs, plexiglass, etc with no problem. I can not say exactly what your dash is made of, but if you can find a hidden spot to test it out, it may be your solution. Just remember that it will remove paint from any metal as well.

I don't need to know this right now, but you never know when you might need to! ~Trev | | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 162 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 162 | Thanks Kidder, I will give it a try.
