They had the whole mechanism and latch together that looked like it would easily adapt to about anything,

I've seen one done, and while it looked nice the owner wasn't very happy with it. His problem was that unless you were real careful it was easy to make the hood go the wrong way and damage the paint.

I have one I decided not to use.
