In looking at older posts it looks like I can run my '60 235 with no oil filtering. That is, I can plug the holes at the block. I am changing out the intake manifold so don't have a place to mount it. I'm also thinking of treating her to a beehive one from Speedway. Anyway, just want to be sure if I can plug the oil lines at the block for a while until I get it sorted out.

You should be able to fit plugs in the holes the oil lines come out of. I am thinking of removing the oil filter entirely on my 1956 235". I change the oil frequently and understand that these by-pass filters don't filter as much as you would like.

Yes, you can plug the oil line holes in the 1960 235 block with no problems. Just change the oil regularly.

This may sound stupid, but make sure you do not have a 261 with the full flow oil filter. These cannot be plugged. The oil line must be looped back to the block.

Thanks everyone. That is what I thought but wasn't 100%. I'd rather be a pest and ask instead of frying an engine!

My 1960 235 didn't ever have a oil filter, but I plan to add one because I happen to have one.

I will still need to change oil just as frequent.
