I sortof intoduced myself in someone elses thread because for some reason I am not allowed to start a new thread in the welcome center. I was able to start a new thread in "BigBolts" and here obviously, but I would like to be able to follow forum rules and properly introduce myself where I am supposed to! I imagine that it is a hiccup or maintenance thing on your end, but please let me know... Thanks, Gator >|--|~

I'm not sure why you couldn't start one there. I see what I can find out. ITMT, I'll move you over there for a proper welcome.
And ... Welcome.

I have always enjoyed working on old cars, trucks, tractors, and basically anything that I could take apart! Currently I own a "Hot-Shot" trucking company (Kinetic Freight Services) and that takes up most of my time. I learned mechanics at a very young age (thank you Dad!) and have continued to hone my skills over the years (once again, thanks Dad for teaching me how to learn on my own!) I have worked in mechanic and body shops where I learned a lot more. I owned my own general contracting company for quit some time, but got out of that to drive trucks. After a number of years driving for others, I decided it was time to start my own company, and that is where I am at now.
The truck! A friend of mine (I'm sure that he will be coming along shortly) and I were helping out a friend cutting approximately 5 acres of land that hadn't been touched in quite a few years when we discovered an Old Fire Truck! When we asked about it the agreement was quickly made that we could have the truck (in exchange for our services which we weren't charging much for anyway) as long as we hauled it off! We didn't hesitate! Within a few weeks (we both work away from home for extended periods) we had a wrecker picking up the truck and hauling it over to my friends place. The truck has been sitting there for around a year, but we finally got started on it This weekend. I think that is enough for now. I'm sure we will get to know each other very quickly. Oh! Another fire truck. Hurray. We've got a 1965 GMC ... but it's for the farm (that's how John was able to snag this one). It it a big help around here and a hit with the neighbors, too.
Welcome to the site. Look forward to seeing some pictures. Have you got one of those photo hosting sites? You'll need to. These Bolters LOVE pictures. (And they need to be linked and not posted ~ thanks).

My partner in crime (Lightning) should be around here before too long, I think he is just waiting for his account approval. As for photo hosting, I am actually creating a new website for all of our various projects and adventures and I will be able to link photos pictures from there. That site is not up yet so I will try to link some up later today... For now you can see one picture of it before we started working on it at www.kineticfreight.comEnjoy and thanks again for the warm welcome. I look forward to hanging out, getting to know all of you, and learning a lot! When I set it up, it was another one of those things I didn't think to check for.
Paul, the Geek said: "Users had "read and reply only" access to that Forum. I changed it to "read and write". They should be able to start a new post now."
Boy, am I glad we have him. And am I glad I'm not too much of a cyber-pest.
Yes, hopefully we'll see Lightning in here, too. And the others who are lingering OUT THERE!
Sorry gang, Peg
