The Updraft Carburetor kits, that are available on the market, are very incomplete. The large chain parts stores don't carry them. I got a kit, from a company out of florida, & I can't remember where the other one came from, but I was very disappointed in them. The Original Carter Repair Kits, are what you want. They show up on ebay, from time, to time. Here's a NOS Carter 2075S, on ebay now, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=120203831727 Also check out the parts For Sale section here,. Chevyb, had some NOS Updraft Carb. floats available.

By the way any kit should come with the instructions to rebuild these. Also a good maintenence manual for your year should have a pretty good explanantion of how they work and go together.

These updrafts are dirt easy to work on compared to some of the downdrafts.

These aftermaket kits, are virtually nothing more than a pack of gaskets. The original Carter kits consist of the gaskets, stepup piston, main metering screw, all springs, pump valve, check valve assembly, venttube, accel. pump, etc. Everything, except, the float assembly. I had a case of them at one time, but only have one left, & it's for the Carter Updraft model 447, for '39-'49 Chevy COE's.

thats what i was worried about, incomplete rebuild kit just having gaskets and nothing else. is their a supplement manual for these carbs? i'm pretty familiar with updraft carbs as i own a NAA ford tractor (53') and a forklift with chrysler ind. flathead and they can really be a pain.
