Drove my 53 Burban to a friends house to install, the 6 lug disc brake kit, drop axle from CPP, and lowering blocks.Tranny is an 3 speed overdrive from a 60-61 wagon i was told.It always shifted perfect no signs of anything wrong, what so ever. Now i can't get it to go into reverse, all other gear shift perfect. looked at all the linkage no problems, nothing binding anywhere.any suggestions would help. also we did intsall eveything mentioned, That disc brake set up is a pain in the a$$. Thanks in advance

The OD system could have an electrical problem which will lock it out of reverse. The last one that I ran into that did that the owner accidently bumped the terminal on the govenor and grounded it out. Take out the inline fuse and take it out of OD. If it works you will need to trouble shoot the OD electrical components.

Note: This unit is designed to prevent the trans from being shifted into reverse while the OD is engaged. The solenoid may also be jammed into the pawl which engages into the blocker ring. You may need to remove the solenoid and check it out.
